From RBT to BCBA
In 4 easy steps.
Step 1: Therapist
Therapist eligibility:
- Actively employed at ABC as a Behavior Therapist (BT) or Registered Behavior Technician (RBT)
- If a BT, must obtain RBT certification within 90 days of hire
Therapist benefits:
- 100% paid 40-hour RBT training course, Initial Competency Assessment, and exam fees
- Partnerships with leading universities for discounted undergraduate and graduate tuition rates
- Coordination with SoFi Financial to reduce interest rates and monthly payments on teammates’ existing loans
- Annual contributions to support teammates' student loan repayment through our loan repayment program
Step 2: Trainee
Trainee eligibility:
- An RBT demonstrating competence and dedicated performance
- Enrolled in an ABA-related master’s program
- Commitment of supervision agreement between trainee and supervisor
Trainee benefits:
- Support from their clinical director (CD) and Everest Program supervisor
- Oversight from ABC’s esteemed clinical council using a comprehensive, assent-based model
- No-cost fieldwork supervision hours
- No deduction from wages for dedicated fieldwork supervision time
- Mentorship, monthly meetings, & unique learning opportunities
- Incentive pay for monthly accumulation of unrestricted hours (up to $2,800 per year)

Step 3: Rising Star
Rising Star eligibility:
- A trainee who has accrued 75% of their fieldwork hours and scored 90% or higher on their two most recent RBT evaluations
- Graduate coursework is completed or will be completed within six months
- The expected timeline to sit for the BACB exam is within six months
- Formal recommendation from their current BCBA, CD, and operations manager (OM).
Rising Star benefits:
- Increased compensation, with an additional raise upon completing 90% of the unrestricted hours requirement
- Paid 40 hours per week off-schedule to accrue any remaining unrestricted hours
- Complementary skill training curriculum & exam prep materials through Behavior Development Solutions (BDS)
- Incentive pay for monthly accumulation of unrestricted hours (up to $2,800 per year)
- All-expenses-paid invite to the annual ABCaba conference and the ABC Leadership Summit

Step 4: Rising Star+
Rising Star+ eligibility:
- Master’s program completed
- All fieldwork hours completed
- BCBA certification exam scheduled within the next three months
Rising Star+ benefits:
- Pay bump to $30.00/hr
- A paid week off to prepare for BCBA exam
- $5,000 bonus for passing the BCBA exam on the first attempt
- All-expenses-paid invite to the annual ABCaba conference and the ABC Leadership Summit
