Danique
Operations Manager (OM)
What is your favorite Action Behavior memory?
My favorite memory at ABC so far is when we had a fire truck visit. We had a fire truck come to our center, and all of our kids got to go outside. They were able to meet the firemen and touch the fire truck, and we took lots of pictures. They even got to see the lights. It was very special, and it meant a lot to their parents as well because, typically, these events are not easy to attend if you have a child on the spectrum. So, for us to designate that time with all of our kiddos was truly a very special moment.
What does your day-to-day look like as an OM?
As the Operations Manager, I'm really the CEO of my center, meaning that I get to drive and ensure the center runs smoothly. I really like that we do lots of themes, we have Fun Fridays, and we do lots of shout-outs. I feel like positive praise for people who do a good job is really important. My favorite part of the day as the OM is actually in the mornings when everyone comes in, especially the kiddos. Some of them cannot wait to leave the car and run into our building because they know it's another day full of fun.
Who inspires you as an OM?
There are two people who are really like my mentors. One of them is our Clinical Director, mainly because she has all the clinical knowledge about our kiddos. She knows all of our BCBAs and RBTs very well. The second person would be our CAA. We are really each other's right and left hands; we do not function without each other. The CAA will do anything we need them to do, and the biggest thing for the CAA is that they are super supportive. If I have a ton of stuff to do, I can say, "Hey, can you help me with this today so I can focus on that?" Knowing that we always have each other's backs is crucial.
What does your future look like with ABC?
I'm definitely planning to stay with ABC. I found this company and feel very fortunate to have had the opportunity to take on the OM position. For me, I want to grow with ABC. Within my first year, I have already received a raise, and I'm very excited to see what's next. My goal is to eventually be a Regional Director of Operations, overseeing a team of Operations Managers and driving them to be better every day.
What do you love the most about working at ABC?
I really like how ABC has a great work-life balance. You work hard and have a lot of fun, but on the weekends and evenings, you also have time to spend with family. That balance is very important to me, and I'm very grateful that ABC also finds it important.
